Registration Assessment 2021

Registration Assessment 08 June 2021 – Application Process

We are pleased to announce that the application process for the Registration Assessment to be held on Tuesday 08 June 2021 will open 13:00 on Friday 23 April 2021.  Details of the application process are described below.  We plan to use a number of venues in the greater Belfast area and one in Coleraine.  Candidates should read the Registration Assessment Procedures, Registration Assessment Specifications and FAQs before applying.

How to apply for the Registration Assessment:

Candidates should follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Go to the Events Section on our website – you will see a choice of venues;
  2. Select a venue (if your preferred venue is not available, you should choose the next most suitable venue);
  3. Register and pay;
  4. Once you have registered at a venue, you must complete and submit the Registration Assessment Entry Form* and email it to pre-registration@psni.org.uk. Applications must be received on or before 17:00 on Monday 10 May 2021.

*Candidates should note that the PDF form must be opened in Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader to allow completion and should be signed by electronic signature.  Instructions on how to make an electronic signature can be found here:

Only when all the above steps have been completed will we confirm your eligibility and issue a Ratified Assessment Entry Form.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES

Proof of identify

Candidates are advised that, in order to gain access to the assessment, they must bring the following two items:

  1. Ratified Registration Assessment Entry Form; and
  2. Photographic ID – one of the following will be accepted:
  • Current UK/EEA full or provisional photocard driving licence;
  • Current valid passport;
  • Electoral ID card; or
  • EEA Identity Card.

Please note that you will not be granted access to the assessment without a Ratified Assessment Entry Form and approved photographic ID.

PPE

Hand sanitiser stations will be available at entry and exits points and throughout the assessment venue and will be accessible to candidates.  Protective masks will be provided to candidates and invigilation teams on the day of the assessment. Due to COVID-19 restrictions and health and safety arrangements, candidates and invigilators will be required to wear a mask during the assessment.

Arrangements are in place for candidates who are exempted from wearing a mask for medical reasons. To apply for an exemption, candidates must email pre-registration@psni.org.uk, using the subject: Mask Exemption, no later than 17:00 on Monday 10 May 2021 requesting an exemption from wearing a mask providing details of why they are exempted from wearing a mask.

Eligibility requirements for entry to the June 2021 Registration Assessment

You must have successfully completed 45 weeks of our pre-registration programme (or be in your 45th week of training) as the sole pupil of a tutor, having obtained a satisfactory 39-week appraisal.

Applications for Reasonable Adjustments

Candidates who have a specific need which they feel could disadvantage them when sitting the Registration Assessment may request a ‘reasonable adjustment’ to the Registration Assessment conditions.

The process for applying for a reasonable adjustment is now open and candidates are invited to read the application process carefully and apply at the earliest opportunity.

Applications for reasonable adjustments will close at 17:00 on Monday 19 April 2021.
