As we celebrate Pharmacist Technician Day today, we once again acknowledge the indispensable role that Pharmacy Technicians play in the provision of pharmacy services in Northern Ireland.
Michaela McAleer, the Chief Executive of the Pharmaceutical Society NI commented:
“Pharmacy Technicians, as essential members of the pharmacy team, significantly enhance patient care and wellbeing.
We are working with our colleagues in the Department of Health NI to establish the necessary frameworks that will allow pharmacy technicians to join our professional register. The registration of technicians will not only enhance public safety but is also crucial for implementing broader service provision reforms planned for technicians, pharmacists and pharmacy in Northern Ireland.”
