In 2019 the Council of the Pharmaceutical Society NI announced that from June 2021 it would hold a registration assessment jointly with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
As part of the governance arrangements for this new approach it was agreed that one pharmacist, registered with the Pharmaceutical Society NI and possessing relevant skills and knowledge would be appointed to the Board of Assessors who oversee the registration assessment.

Trevor Patterson CEO of Pharmaceutical Society NI said “ this is a critically important role – the Board of Assessors are responsible for every aspect of the registration assessment and the person appointed to this position will be expected to provide reports to our Council on the work of the Board. We propose to shortlist through our consultants and interviews for those most closely matching the requirements will take place by video conference on 9th October 2020”
