Continuing Professional Development has been a statutory requirement for registration with the Pharmaceutical Society NI since 1 June 2013. To comply with this requirement all pharmacist registrants must submit a compliant CPD portfolio, on an annual basis, before the 31 May each year.
The portal to online submission opens today, 1 April 2015.
Michelle McCorry, Post-Registration Lead commented, “We evidenced a high level of engagement with the CPD process last year and look forward a similar response this CPD year (2014/15). From 1 April 2015, all who have their CPD portfolio records completed can submit these online using the online portal, accessible via cpd.psni.org.uk/cpd/main_err.asp or the NICPLD website. We strongly encourage the use of on-line recording and early submission of portfolios”.
Giving further details Michelle said, “Once a portfolio is submitted, the portal automatically closes and the portfolio cannot be retrieved. An automatic email message will be sent confirming that the CPD submission has been successful. This ‘confirmation’ should be printed off and kept as a personal record. If a confirmation email is not received there may have been a problem with the submission, please contact us.
Once all portfolios have been submitted a 10% sample will be generated and assessed by our assessor team. If your portfolio has been selected for assessment, you will be notified either by email or by letter, week ending 12 June 2015. Once the selected portfolios have been assessed, you will be notified of your result by the end of August 2015.”
“At this stage our key message is to submit portfolios as soon as possible to avoid any last minute glitches or problems. We would also remind you to keep a hard copy of your CPD cycles a personal record.”
Should a you experience any issues with the IT aspect of making a CPD submission please contact Michelle McCorry either by email michelle.mccorry@psni.org.uk or by telephone on 028 90326927.
