Dr Mark Timoney, former Chief Pharmaceutical Officer in the Department of Health, has been appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2020 Queen’s Birthday honours list, for Services to Pharmacy. Mr Eamon Mullaney, Professional Manager, Pharmacy Services, has been awarded a Members of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to the pharmaceutical sector, particularly during Covid-19.
Dr Jim Livingstone, President of the Pharmaceutical Society NI, congratulated Dr Timoney and Mr Mullaney on their achievements:

Dr Timoney’s OBE rightly marks his considerable contribution to pharmacy services in Northern Ireland and beyond.
“Dr Timoney has worked tirelessly to develop pharmacy services and healthcare throughout his notable career. At the Pharmaceutical Society NI, we worked closely and productively with him during his successful period as Chief Pharmaceutical Officer.
“We are also delighted that he has recently been appointed to sit on the Statutory Committee of the Pharmaceutical Society NI, using his wealth of experience and knowledge in our important Fitness to Practise work. His desire to continue to serve the profession and the public is clear to see.
“I would also like to provide my warm congratulations to Mr Eamon Mullaney on receiving an MBE for services to the pharmaceutical sector, particularly during Covid-19. It is especially pleasing that the work of Mr Mullaney have been recognised in response to Covid-19, which is not only a mark of his outstanding contribution, but a reflection of the wider contribution pharmacists have made in Northern Ireland throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
