Supp/Independent Prescribers

If you wish to be registered as a Supplementary/Independent prescriber1, please bring in your original Supplementary/Independent prescriber certificate from a accredited university, a form of photographic ID and a fee of £25.  Cheques should be made payable to the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland.  Pharmacists do not need to make an appointment to see the Registrar.

Any pharmacists registered as Supplementary and Independent Prescribers' will have their registration numbers anotated with an SP or IP on our online register.

The Society will endeavour to annotate the register within 1 day of receiving a completed application.

1. A Pharmacist Independent Prescriber must be a registered pharmacist whose name is held on the membership register of the PSNI, with an annotation signifying that the pharmacist has successfully completed an education and training programme accredited by the PSNI and is qualified as an independent prescriber.
