Annual Retention

The registration year for pharmacists in Northern Ireland runs from 1st June to the 31st May.

In order to ensure that you are registered to practise in Northern Ireland as a pharmacist, you must complete a retention form and pay the appropriate fee each year by 1st June.

A retention form will be sent to you from the Society annually if you are a registered pharmacist.

Failure to pay your fees on time will result in your name being automatically removed from the Register of Pharmaceutical Chemists, and you will be required to pay a restoration fee of £500 along with your retention fee if you wish to rejoin the register.

Every year pharmacists wishing to maintain their registration are asked to make self declarations of health and character. Registrants are required to put any issues with regard to conduct and health in writing to the Registrar marking the envelope 'Confidential'.

Should you wish to withdraw voluntarily from the register, please notify the Society in writing or by email to registration@psni.org.uk.
Please note on withdrawing you must return your certificate of registration to the Society within 14 days as stated in The Pharmacy (NI) Order 1976, Section 14 (3).
