European Certificate of Professional Status
Pharmacists currently registered in Northern Ireland who wish to apply for registration to practise in another country require a 'European Certificate of Current Professional Status' to be sent on their behalf to the relevant registration authority. This certificate will confirm your good standing with the PSNI, and also outline details about your registration, namely university education and preregistration training details.
The certificate is valid for 3 months from the date of issue. Most boards and societies around the world request this document as part of their registration process. Further information regarding registration in specific countries is available at the bottom of this page.
There will be a charge of £50 for a European Certificate of Current Professional Status. Cheques should be made payable to the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland.
Applicants for the Republic of Ireland should note that they should submit EUR 3 and 4 forms as well as the application form for a Certificate of Current Professional Status found below.
Please note, a Certificate of Current Professional Status takes up to 5 working days to be issued from the date of receipt of a completed and correct application form. You should ensure your submission is both timely and accurate.
Pharmacists wishing to obtain a Certificate of Current Professional Status should complete and submit an application form. For an application form please click here.
Please note that on completing the above application, applicants must declare all convictions. (The position of pharmacist is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Northern Ireland) Order 1978. Therefore you must declare all convictions including those that would be considered "spent" under this legislation.)
Please note any false or misleading information may be treated as misconduct which may result in the registrant being subject to fitness to practise proceedings.
